GRAHAM Construction is looking for an experienced Labourer to join our team as we deliver a £28m upgrade at the National Railway Museum in York. The project starts on 3rd August, but we're hiring our Labourer now, so you can secure your place early and have a guaranteed role lined up to look forward to.

Duties will include:

  • Undertake general housekeeping duties and maintain a high standard of site cleanliness within the site compound and site entrance, including litter picking around the area and general upkeeping of walkways.
  • Monitoring waste streams into skips and reporting to site management when skips need exchanging.
  • Monitoring of full site boundaries before and end of shift, ensuring outside the site boundary is always kept pristine.
  • Reporting of general hazards on site.
  • Management of GRAHAM store.
  • Clean lorry wheels when leaving site daily, which involves physical lifting and general labour.
  • Maintain a good relationship with all stakeholders and always behave in a professional manner.
  • Undertake all duties as required in a reliable, flexible constructive manner.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working on commercial construction sites.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work on own initiative.
  • Demonstrable strong communication skills.
  • Able to have flexibility in working hours – typically hours will be 7:30am to 5:30pm as a guide.
  • Sound administration skills with an understanding of the importance of accurate paperwork.
  • Basic IT knowledge – particularly with a tablet or similar device that uses apps.
  • CSCS Labourer card as an absolute minimum.
  • Live a commutable distance from the York site.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to undertake the duties required.
  • Team player attitude.
  • Committed to safety.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
