Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of mechanical and electrical systems including all on-site HVAC equipment, mechanical plant equipment, general electrical and plumbing systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities to extend the lifespan of all mechanical plant equipment and systems, including FCUs, AHUs, Calorifiers, ASHP, heat exchangers, pumps and motors.
- Maintain the above equipment in line with contract specifications and industry guidelines whilst complying with company health and safety policies.
- Use building management systems (BMS) to understand the performance of the HVAC equipment, identify faults and rectify them.
- Work as part of a team responsible for the maintenance of various sites.
- Act as the lead coordinator on site as necessary.
- Meet with a variety of clients to represent the Company and remain courteous and professional in dealings at all times.
- Accurately complete and submit company documentation (hard copy or electronic) as required per contract.
- Use initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with minor works activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.
- Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task.
- Have a sound understanding of the current edition of BS7671 and associated IET guidance documents in relation to best practice and principles.
- Participate on the company’s on-call rota to provide the client with full out of hours cover.
This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged and the range of duties to be undertaken. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.
About You
Essential Criteria:
- NVQ / C&G Level 3 in HVAC/ Electrical Engineering or Building Services Technician.
- Electrical qualifications – 18th edition C&G 2382.
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to commercial planned, reactive and remedial maintenance.
- Proven experience as a maintenance engineer in building services.
- Current Full UK Driver’s License.
- IOSH Working Safely / CSCS Card.
- Normal eyesight colour vision.
- Ability to undertake Non Personnel Police Vetting level 2.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in planned & reactive maintenance.
- Gas Safe registration commercial gas – COCN1, CDGA1, CIGA1, Unvented Hot Water.
- PASMA.
- IPAF Licence.
- IT Skills – in the use of PDA’s.
- Asbestos Awareness Training.
