We are seeking a Water Hygiene Technician to join us on our Facilities Management Contract. GRAHAM FM will provide services related to both planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance of facilities in relation to mechanical and electrical assets, building fabric, roofing, roller shutter doors, fire alarm systems, domestic gas boilers and legionella monitoring.

Location: Mobile - Durham Constabulary

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 Hours

Job Type: Permanent / Full Time

The Water Hygiene Technician will:

  • Monitor inspections involving temperature testing of water outlets, TMVs, inspection of cold water storage tanks and hot water storage vessels, water sample collection, showerhead disinfection and logbook auditing.
  • Undertake monitoring and maintenance of building water services as part of a Legionella Control Program in accordance with ACoP L8 and HSG 274.
  • Use a PDA and web-based electronic log book system for inspections.
  • Undertake other water hygiene related tasks as required including Monitoring, Maintenance and Remediation works.
  • Be prepared to travel as the role will involve working in a multi-site capacity.

About You

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrate previous experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrate previous experience in related water system remediation/maintenance works, working knowledge of the respective legislation and guidance material (HSC ACoP L8, HSG 274, Water Regulations).
  • C&G 6019 NVQ Lv 3 or equivalent, having completed a relevant apprenticeship within your trade.
  • Hold a minimum of 3 years experience in a FM maintenance role, particularly in relation to planned, reactive and remedial maintenance within a FM Environment.
  • Clean Driving Licence.
  • Ability to achieve Police Vetting to NPPV2 level to enable working in Our Clients facilities.

Desirable Criteria:

  • City & Guilds or similar accredited Legionella control training.
  • Previous experience in the maintenance, servicing and testing of Chemical Water Treatment systems.
  • Qualification in TMV / TMT maintenance and servicing.
  • IOSH Working Safely qualification / CSCS.
  • Working within a Multi Discipline FM Environment able to undertake Minor Fabric & Mechanical repairs.
