A Kells-based construction/engineering business is hiring a Purchasing Manager to manage end-to-end purchasing and keep materials, plant, equipment and services flowing to support production and project delivery. They specialise in the sale and manufacture of containerised solutions and modular buildings available for sale & hire.

As Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for leading the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials and goods, for the entire production process.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire purchasing process
  • Negotiate with suppliers in order to secure best price and payment terms based on bulk buying practices
  • Develop a purchasing strategy that supports all areas of the business
  • Develop relationships with suppliers
  • Manage delivery of goods and ensure quality
  • Manage and monitor stock levels with Stores Manager, to ensure a minimum quantity is available at all times
  • Collaborate with the Sales team and Production Manager to ensure availability of all items required
  • Analyse market trends in regards to product substitution, availability and pricing
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management on procurement KPIs
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in purchasing/procurement within a manufacturing, construction/engineering related business
  • Good communication & negotiation skills
  • Good commercial awareness and data analysis skills
  • Ability to work in collaboration with sales & production teams
  • Ability to deliver results under occasional tight deadlines and delivery schedules
  • Experience & knowledge of procurement operating systems
  • A degree or certification in purchasing would be an advantage.
