The engineering team has deep international experience and continually adapts tooling and machinery to push boundaries in deep hole processing and production efficiency.
Purpose of the Role
The Estimator will play a key part within the commercial/operations team, responsible for preparing accurate, timely quotations and supporting customer enquiries within a fast‑paced precision engineering environment. This role is well‑suited to someone technically minded ideally with some knowledge of machining processes-ideally including CNC turning or similar precision engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a low volume of daily inbound calls (~5 per day).
- Carry out follow‑ups on approximately 15 repeat leads per day.
- Produce around 30 quotations daily, ensuring accuracy and attention to technical detail.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to generate costings.
- Liaise with internal teams (engineering, production, quality) to gather information needed for quotations.
- Maintain an organised workflow to support the company's reputation for reliability and on‑time delivery.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in estimating processes and customer responsiveness.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong technical mindset; experience in CNC turning, machining, or engineering environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to understand and interpret written details and engineering drawings/tolerance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with urgency under time constraints.
- Confident communicator with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple live quotations simultaneously.
- A proactive team player, joining a collaborative team of five.
