Payroll Advisor (c£40,000 pro-rata)

We are delighted to be working on an exciting opportunity for a Payroll professional to join a major Workday Payroll implementation programme. This role sits within the payroll project team and will play a key part in ensuring a smooth and successful Go Live on 1 April 2026.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will support both core payroll activity and the wider transformation programme, working closely with colleagues across the business and acting as a champion for new ways of working.

You will take ownership of end to end testing in Workday, following clear test scripts, documenting outcomes, and recording activity through Jira. A big part of your role will involve analysing payroll results to ensure accuracy across all occupational and statutory payments and deductions, while maintaining full compliance with UK legislation and internal policy.

You will also help create process documentation and SOPs, support parallel runs, and provide guidance to the BAU payroll team when required. As a Workday change agent, you will coach others, share knowledge, and bring fresh ideas to improve processes, strengthen controls, and enhance payroll service delivery. There will also be opportunity to take on specific pay period tasks as directed by the Payroll Manager.

To thrive here, you will bring strong Workday payroll processing experience and ideally a relevant payroll qualification such as CIPP or equivalent hands on expertise. You will be confident interpreting UK payroll and pensions legislation, with excellent analytical skills, great IT capability including Excel, and a solution focused approach. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential, as is the ability to work with accuracy in a fast paced project environment.
