This is a significant senior leadership appointment, offering the opportunity to shape and lead an ambitious people agenda across a complex organisation employing approximately 650 people.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and operating as a member of the senior leadership team, you will provide strategic leadership across people, culture, organisational development and workforce capability. You will also act as a trusted adviser to the Chief Executive, senior leadership team and governors, ensuring the people agenda is central to organisational strategy and future development.
This is a broad and influential role encompassing:
Development and delivery of the People & Culture strategy
Strategic workforce planning and organisational development
Culture, engagement and employee experience
Talent, succession and leadership development
Organisational design and transformation
Employee relations and employment law
Strategic relationships with recognised trade unions
Reward, recognition, benefits and employee value proposition
Equality, diversity, inclusion and employee wellbeing
People analytics, workforce intelligence and governance
Leadership and development of the HR function
The successful individual will be an accomplished senior HR leader with experience gained within a complex organisation and the credibility to influence and challenge at executive and board/governor level.
You will bring a strong track record of developing and delivering people strategy alongside broad generalist HR expertise. Of particular importance will be experience of organisational development and change, workforce planning, employee relations and developing high-performing teams.
You will also need experience of building constructive relationships with recognised trade unions and possess strong knowledge of employment law and people governance.
A degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification and CIPD qualification at Level 5 or above are required. Chartered CIPD membership and a relevant postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.
Previous experience within education is not essential. We are keen to hear from senior HR professionals from a range of complex, multi-stakeholder environments who can demonstrate the leadership, judgement and influencing skills required to operate at this level. xohmjla
