Grafton Banks Finance are working with an SME Construction business based on the outskirts of Manchester to recruit a robust, commercially minded, and completely hands-on Interim Financial Controller for a period of 3-6 months to manage the finance function whilst the company recruits a permanent Financial Controller.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver accurate, high-quality monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and executive board packs.
  • Budgeting Forecasting: Coordinate annual budget formulation and maintain rolling quarterly financial forecasts.
  • Compliance Tax: Supervise statutory filings, corporate tax returns, and serve as the principal liaison for external financial audits.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce corporate internal controls and risk management frameworks.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor, manage, and elevate the performance of the day-to-day transaction processing team.
  • Cash Flow Management: Oversee tight weekly cash flow forecasting to balance client receipts against subcontractor and material payments.
  • Financial Controls: Strengthen on-site procurement controls.

The successful candidate will be qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA with a verifiable track record in interim turnaround roles. You will ideally have experience of working within the construction, engineering, building background.
