Grafton Banks Finance are working with an SME Construction business based on the outskirts of Manchester to recruit a robust, commercially minded, and completely hands-on Interim Financial Controller for a period of 3-6 months to manage the finance function whilst the company recruit a permanent Financial controller.
Duties and Responsibilities will include
- Deliver accurate, high-quality monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and executive board packs.
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Coordinate annual budget formulation and maintain rolling quarterly financial forecasts
- Compliance & Tax
- Supervise statutory filings, corporate tax returns, and serve as the principal liaison for external financial audits.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce corporate internal controls and risk management frameworks.
- Team Leadership: Mentor, manage, and elevate the performance of the day-to-day transaction processing team.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee tight weekly cash flow forecasting to balance client receipts against subcontractor and material payments
- Financial Controls: Strengthen on-site procurement controls,
The successful candidate will be qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA with a verifiable track record in interim turn around roles.
You will ideally have experience of working within the construction, engineering, building back ground and be technically strong with Advanced Excel skills and familiar with accounting software packages.
