Grafton Banks Finance are delighted to be working with an SME commercial business with offices in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, to recruit a Head of Finance Transformation on a 12 month FTC.

Reporting into the MD you will act as a key strategic partner leading the modernisation and transformation of the companies finance function. The focus is on how finance operates optimising systems, processes, data, and wider collaboration. Focusing on process improvements across the board.

You will work alongside the Financial Controller (FC) and FP&A Analyst, to identify and implement smarter, faster, and more connected finance operations. It will influence, enable, and inspire cultural change and partnership through ensuring that the finance function evolves as a strategic, technology-enabled business partner.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the identification, planning and execution of finance transformation across systems, processes, and data.
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller to enhance process efficiency, internal controls, and automation.
  • Partner with the FP&A Analyst to strengthen reporting, forecasting, and analytics capabilities.
  • Identify and deliver opportunities to standardise and simplify finance processes across the organisation.
  • Drive the adoption of digital tools, dashboards, and workflow automation.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-functional collaboration to ensure finance processes integrate seamlessly across wider business operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support effective change delivery.
  • Work with Directors to coach and mentor finance team members to increase their digital and analytical capability.
  • Measure and communicate the success of transformation initiatives against agreed performance metrics.

Key Skills required for this 12-month Fixed Term Contract:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and delivering finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of finance operations, systems, and data flows.
  • Proven ability to influence, engage, and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience implementing automation, reporting, and system solutions.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Commercially astute, strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach to change delivery.

For your experience you will be rewarded with a competitive salary and benefits package. Due to the contract nature of this position interim finance professionals available within 1 months' notice will take preference. Hybrid working is on offer.
