Grafton Banks Finance Executive Search is exclusively assisting an industry respected and growing SME with offices based in Hailsham, East Sussex. The role is based full time onsite so candidates will need to be based locally. The position is hands on yet varied, commercial and strategic and will report to the CEO and board. It requires a tight control of cashflow as well as contract negotiations and cost control throughout the contract cycle. Previous experience of accounting for long term contracts and revenue recognition would be an advantage.

The key areas of responsibility include:

  • Daily cash management, maintenance of the cashflow spreadsheets to provide real-time information to the Board
  • Management and motivation of the small finance team
  • Monthly financial reporting
  • Supplier management (in partnership with Compliance)
  • Providing financial data for tenders, external parties and the Board
  • Year-end audit schedule preparation & oversee audit
  • Annual Accounts / CT Return sign off
  • Budget setting and monitoring
  • Monthly Forecasting
  • Maintaining key relationships with Bankers, Auditors, HMRC, Stakeholders
  • Researching alternative sources of finance, including invoice financing, alternative banks, HMRC TTP, hire purchase
  • Support and provide information on corporate legal matters – EMI, leases, contracts, legal documents, shares
  • Provide support for divisions including upskilling managers in understanding financial matters including suggesting cost saving measures
  • Work with departments to agree spending budgets
  • Attend SLT meetings weekly with an overview of forecast and updated monthly figures
