Grafton Banks Finance are working with a growing commercial company with offices in Brighton, East Sussex to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a full time permanent basis. Reporting into the Finance Director and working within a small friendly team you will be responsible for managing the daily accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Post all overhead invoices
  • Post all GFR invoices
  • Process all expenses
  • Process all payments
  • Dealing with all suppliers on queries
  • Supplier accounts reconciliations
  • Daily Cashflow
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Petty cash management and reconciliations
  • Sales Agents Commission calculations
  • Product Royalty calculations
  • VAT returns
  • Run month end reports and managing period end closing on accounting system
  • Produce recharge invoices
  • Produce monthly reports for Factor company
  • Month end reconciliation of system Aged Debtors to Factor Company balance
  • Month end Journals calculations and entry
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the credit controller

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working within a varied finance role as an “Accounts Assistant” or “Assistant Accountant”. You will need to have strong IT skills including experience of working with accounting software packages and Excel. You will need to have excellent communication skills both verbal and written and be able to work within a fast-paced varied working environment. This role is a full time permanent position offering a competitive salary and benefits package. Candidates available within 1 months’ notice will take preference.
