£75,000-£85,000 pa plus bonus and benefits. Hybrid 3 days in the office, 2 days remote. Near London Bridge.

Senior Management Accountant for a large, respected insurance company in London (commutable to London Bridge). The role covers the monthly and quarterly close cycle, balance sheet reconciliations, and analysis plus process improvement work. The position feeds into the FP&A team and provides analysis around earned premiums, losses, planned versus actual losses, and reinsurance analysis.

Qualifications

Candidates should be fully qualified CIMA, ACA, or ACCA with experience in the insurance sector and in monthly and quarterly close work.

Responsibilities

  • Compile, review, and analyse complex financial data for variance analysis, reporting, and accuracy to interpret and understand trends.
  • Develop and validate financial analyses for key performance metrics (e.g., production, profitability, expense management, staffing).
  • Prepare and create components of the overall business plan, budget, and forecasts.
  • Conduct reviews for accuracy and completeness and approve internal management-based financial reporting, both routine and ad hoc, in line with corporate policies and standards.
  • Review external financial statements.
  • Prepare and review complex documentation to support internal and external audits with interaction with internal auditors.
  • Maintain compliance with various external regulatory requirements and internal accounting policies.
  • Participate in projects involving complex analysis and implementation of non-complex, routine business and financial regulatory changes related to financial reporting (e.g., reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions).
