Overview
Grafton Banks Finance are working with a well-respected commercial business with offices on the outskirts of Lewes, East Sussex to recruit a Part Time Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Finance Director and working in a small friendly team you will be responsible for supporting with the company’s day to day accounting and finances. You will have an excellent understanding of accounting fundamentals, have some VAT experience, and enjoy analysing figures and want to develop your understanding and skills to help create a process-driven and efficient department. The ideal candidate would be enthusiastic, professional and well organised and should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Sales & Purchase ledger entry and reconciliation of supplier statements
- Paying and liaising with suppliers
- Bank account entry and reconciliation
- Credit card, Cash and Staff expense entry
- Journal entries
- General accounts administration
- Purchase Orders
- Credit control and debt management
Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years of practical accounting experience, ideally within an SME-sized organisation
- Technical knowledge and either working towards or fully AAT qualified
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- Part-time role working in office
- Working hours: 20-25 hours per week
- Salary guide FTE £30,000, pro rata for the hours worked
