Reporting to the Finance Director, the Head of Finance will take ownership of core financial operations while helping to shape a more robust and future‑ready finance function.
You will:
- Strengthen the overall financial control environment, including processes, reconciliations and policies
- Lead the month‑end close process, ensuring timely and accurate management reporting
- Own cash flow forecasting and working capital management, improving visibility and control
- Support the budgeting and reforecasting cycle, providing review, challenge and insight
- Oversee tax and statutory compliance (VAT, PAYE, corporation tax), working with external advisors
- Lead on year‑end audit and statutory reporting, coordinating internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and mentor a growing finance team, building capability and independence
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation and system enhancements (including AI where appropriate)
- Support the business through international expansion and multi‑entity complexity
We are looking for a highly credible qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with experience of an E‑commerce business.
You will bring:
- Strong technical accounting and financial control experience
- A track record in scaling E‑commerce businesses
- Solid experience in cash flow, working capital and inventory management
- Exposure to multi‑entity or international operations
- A hands‑on, pragmatic approach combined with the ability to lead and challenge
- A collaborative, solutions‑focused mindset
Living in East or West Sussex and able to attend an office 3 days per week. Hybrid working (3 days office / 2 remote).
