Grafton Banks Finance are working with a commercial services company with offices in Brighton, East Sussex to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting into the Head of Finance, this newly created role will provide strategic financial support and analysis across the business. This role is critical to driving commercial performance, supporting decision-making with robust financial insights, compiling management accounts and board packs for multiple divisions within the business alongside working on weekly and monthly reports with cash flow monitoring.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Partner with Divisional heads and their direct reports to provide financial reporting that drives performance
- Lead monthly performance reviews with operational teams, identifying risks, opportunities, and corrective actions
- Support strategic initiatives including BD, negotiations, and investment appraisals
- Develop and maintain divisional KPI dashboards and performance metrics
- Overseeing all bookkeeping for the division
- Preparation of monthly MI Management Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly management accounts and board reports
- Produce accurate forecasts and support the budgeting process
- Support contract reviews and margin analysis for new opportunities
- Monitor project performance and work-in-progress, identifying potential issues early
- Collaborate with Commercial Managers on cost control and recovery initiatives
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and governance requirements
- Support the business with Process Improvement & Systems
The successful candidate will be actively studying towards AAT and or ACCA, CIMA, ACA with at least 1 year’s practical working experience. You will need to have good people skills and excellent communication skills with some idea and experience of management accounting, reconciliation and compiling reports. Excellent IT skills are essential, particularly in Excel and Microsoft packages. You will be looking to progress with your career to Qualified Accountant level. Full Study Support is on offer.
