Finance Recruitment Specialist, focusing on the Part Qualified markets at Grafton Banks Finance Ltd
Grafton Banks Finance is working with a growing Law Firm, with offices across the Southeast, to recruit its new Head of Finance. Reporting to the Senior Partner this broad and hands on role will lead the firms finance department, managing a small team. The firm is growing, and this role will provide commercial support to the partners and look to add value through the improvement of processes, controls, and systems. You will be responsible for taking ownership of all the finance functions including billing, credit control, accounts payable, management accounts, financial accounts, overhead budgets and forecast, purchase ledger, banking, payroll, financial systems.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the Finance team.
- Working with the management team to formulate and implement a robust financial strategy, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities to increase the profitability of the business.
- Providing financial advice and support to the business to enable sound business decisions to be made.
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of all aspects of the firm’s accounts.
- VAT returns and compliance with all aspects of the tax regime.
- Management of budgets and the budgeting process.
- Reporting on monthly cash flow, billings, work in progress and debtors as required by the Management Team.
- Production of monthly management information reports.
- Working with the Compliance officer for finance and administration to implement and maintain systems and controls for monitoring the financial stability of the firm.
- Production of reports and data for the firm’s statutory accounts and year-end annual audit.
- Helping to improve the financial awareness of staff through sharing knowledge and holding training sessions.
- Supporting the Finance team to maintain strong working relationships within the business.
- Ensuring any Finance-related policies and procedures are kept up to date, in particular any which relate to the requirements of our regulators.
- Management of any Finance department projects.
The successful candidate will be ACCA, CIMA, ACA Qualified or Qualified by Experience who is experienced leading small teams to deliver financial control and who has gained similar experience within a law firm. You will have Advanced Excel skills and proficient in the use of general and accounting software and systems. Excellent communication skills are essential both verbal and written to communicate across the business to both finance and non-finance professionals. You will hold excellent attention to detail and be able to work to tight deadlines.
