Grafton Banks Finance is working exclusively with a growing multisite business, based near Crawley, to recruit their new Financial Controller. This is a high-impact senior finance role within a fast-growing business, in a high-demand market. The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial control, improving reporting quality, and supporting the business through its next phase of growth. The role is part of the SLT and will require commercial acumen to support an experienced CFO.
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ideally trained in practice), who is technically strong, and an experienced Financial Controller, or similar. Experience managing teams is essential.
Key tasks:- Own the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting.
- Lead the preparation of management accounts, board packs and investor reporting, with clear variance analysis and commentary.
- Maintain strong balance sheet control, including reconciliations, provisions and working capital management.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the year-end audit process and manage relationships with external auditors and advisors.
- Strengthen internal controls, policies and procedures to support a scaled, multi-site organisation.
- Support finance systems development and upgrades, including ERP optimisation and reporting tools.
- Lead, mentor and develop a new finance team, setting high standards and building a strong performance culture.
Salary for this role is up to £85,000 + benefits including 10% bonus, private healthcare and 25 days holiday. The role is hybrid working with 3 days required in the offices per week.
