Key skills and experience we're looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience running projects via construction management / trade contractor route (not just main contractor oversight)
  • Hands-on construction background
  • Experience renovating period or listed buildings
  • Strong existing relationships with tradesmen and sub-contractors in East Sussex / Kent, or proven ability to build a local supply chain quickly
  • Confident procuring and managing work packages: scoping, tendering, contracting, programming, valuing
  • Cost control and reporting against budget across multiple concurrent projects
  • Programme management across parallel sites – sequencing trades, sharing resource, avoiding clashes
  • Health & safety / CDM competence (SMSTS or equivalent)
  • Quality control and snagging through to handover
  • Comfortable working directly to a client/owner rather than within a contractor structure
