A superb opportunity has arisen for a practical and technically minded Assembly Technician to join my client's growing production team in Eastbourne on a contract basis.

The role involves assembling electrical, electronic and mechanical components into complete products and systems.

You will work from drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of materials and assembly instructions to ensure products are built correctly, efficiently and to a high quality standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical, electronic and mechanical components and sub-assemblies.
  • Build complete units and systems according to drawings, specifications and work instructions.
  • Read and follow engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Install and connect electrical components, cables, connectors and wiring.
  • Carry out basic mechanical assembly, including fitting panels, brackets, enclosures and other components.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and appropriate assembly equipment safely and correctly.
  • Check components and assemblies throughout the build process to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Identify and report missing, incorrect or damaged components.
  • Work closely with Test Technicians to resolve assembly or quality issues identified during testing.
  • Record completed work and follow relevant production documentation and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised workstation.
  • Support continuous improvements in assembly methods, quality and production efficiency.
  • Assist other members of the production team when required.
