We are excited to be recruiting a number of Business Analysis roles to support the University’s Strategic Projects.

About Us

The team consists of three main functions:

  • Strategy and Planning: Enable the delivery of the University’s strategy and business planning processes.
  • Business Analytics and Insight: We empower fact-based decisions and performance.
  • Strategic Projects Office: Spearhead major change initiatives across the University.

Why choose us?

We foster a supportive and mentoring culture, believing that our greatest strength lies in our dedication to personal and professional growth for everyone. As a welcoming team, we love to connect through regular social activities. We have monthly after-work socials, engaging team days throughout the year, and a festive meal in December. By working at the University, you’ll have the chance to be part of supportive peer networks and pursue undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Additionally, you can enjoy our stunning campus and sports facilities and immerse yourself in a community passionate about learning and innovation.

Our Core Principles

How we work is just as important as what we do. We believe in working collaboratively, with clarity, and building capabilities. These principles guide everything we do.

About The Role

This role will support, deliver, and develop the integrated approach, which links strategic objectives with the delivery of those objectives via programmes and projects. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be a key member of the team, applying your expert business analysis capabilities to strategic programmes and projects to help us deliver the benefits that will realise the University’s strategy. You will work with and influence senior stakeholders across the University on the scoping, composition, and analysis of the portfolio of programmes and projects, benefits management, options analyses, and provide relevant portfolio data. This information will support good governance, effective allocation of resources, and comprehensive risk management. The aim is to deliver solutions through successful programmes and projects, offer assurance to underpin investment, and promote effective benefits realisation. You will be supporting a strategic programme of related initiatives that require further discovery work to find solutions to generate efficiencies and create capacity within the organisation. You will work as part of the programme team to lead its business analysis activity, establishing clarity, making recommendations, and taking responsibility for BA work planning.

About You

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Have expert knowledge of business analysis methods and experience of applying them in a large, complex organisation.
  • Have extensive skills and experience in business process mapping, using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Be highly proficient at engaging with and influencing a range of stakeholders, including at a senior level.

Further information

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Laura Clapp, Deputy Director of PPSC (Planning, Portfolio and Delivery). A further role of Business Analyst (Grade 7) is available to view on our website. If selected for an interview, you may be considered for any of the available opportunities.
