We are looking for a Therapy Support Worker to work across Cambridgeshire within our Prevention and Early Intervention services. The aim of the service is to identify, prevent, reduce, and delay the need for both short- and long-term care and support. It comprises the Adult Early Help team, Reablement, Technology Enabled Care, Sensory Services, and Occupational Therapy.
These roles will focus on providing therapy support to people receiving Reablement, to increase their independence, improve their well-being, and decrease their long-term care and support needs.
These are hybrid posts, working across Cambridgeshire with multiple office bases including March, Ely, Huntingdon, St Ives, and Cambridge, with the option to work from home for documentation and non-clinical tasks.
The roles are full-time (37 hours/week), offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Interviews are scheduled for the week beginning 21/07/25.
We will honor continuous service for staff joining from other local authorities or NHS trusts regarding annual leave entitlement.
For inquiries about the role or benefits, please contact Occupational Therapy Team Manager Rebecca Marr at 07712251427.
Appointment is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We value diversity and aim for our workforce to reflect the communities we serve.
What will you be doing?
You will be supported by a registered occupational therapist to manage your own caseload requiring intervention. Your responsibilities include identifying rehabilitation goals, monitoring progress, and communicating with the Reablement team. Interventions include functional practice, mobility assessments, home exercise programs, strength and balance activities, stairs practice, outdoor mobility, and prescribing mobility aids and equipment.
You will record and evidence interventions and outcomes, with support from the OT team through supervision, team meetings, training, and peer support.
About you
Ideal candidates will have experience in rehabilitation or reablement settings, strong communication skills, and teamwork experience. Travel across the county is required, and access to a vehicle is necessary. The work base may be negotiable based on service needs.
We offer numerous benefits, including a comprehensive wellbeing package, additional annual leave options, flexible bank holidays, pension contributions, development opportunities, paid volunteering hours, peer support groups, employee recognition awards, and discounts through Our Cambs Rewards program.
