This leading retail company is one of the most recognised brands in the UK and now has a need for a regulatory lawyer to join in a key advisory role for the business.

The role sits in the legal team and is primarily concerned with balancing legal risk with commercial benefit and providing timely and clear legal advice to this effect. The position will provide advice on a range of regulatory matters including the regulation which is specific to this particular industry sector.

The role will also liaise with the regulator, developing a strong relationship and an open dialogue with the regulator. A key part of the role will be to deliver regulatory compliance across the business, building relationships and ensuring the business continues as both a trusted and customer focussed brand as well as a leader in its space.

The position will suit a regulatory lawyer interested in utilising these skills in a commercial environment. Key will be learning an understanding of the relevant regulatory landscape and being able to advise the business and work with stakeholders to ensure the business is compliant. A litigation or competition background would also work well.

The ability to provide strong technical support yet work closely with the business, advising and delivering training in a non-legal way is required to deal with the business effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to operate in a commercial way is key.
