About the Opportunity
We are delighted to be working with a high profile brand on an absolutely key role for the business - Legal Director for IP. The role will run the IP team for the UK and APAC and will require good management and leadership skills. Being such a key role for one of the most recognised brands in the world, the role will have responsibility for all IP matters, including brand protection and anti-counterfeiting activities. The IP strategy will be global and the purpose of the role is to manage the team’s implementation of this strategy for the geographical area. The business is keen to embrace AI and are looking for a senior IP specialist who is also open to utilising this tool cautiously and carefully to ideally enable efficiency.
Whilst the brand has an incredible heritage, the business is known for its commitment to excellence and upholds innovation and creativity - it constantly strives to make itself not just relevant but continually iconic - you will support this endeavour both on a day to day and strategic level.
About You
A strong IP brands skillset is key, with hands-on management experience also being required. The ability to work collaboratively with marketing, advertising and innovation teams is also key. Strong relationship development skills and the ability to work on complex IP matters in a commercial way is also essential. The role is a key role for this high profile brand and will suit an individual who wants to take on a managerial role, who can lead a team and who has a global mindset. Given the nature and complexity of the IP work involved, industry experience in FMCG, luxury, retail or consumer brands would all suit.
