Consumer Focussed…. This leading international retailer is looking to appoint a lawyer to lead on data privacy, AI, cybersecurity and compliance matters for its UK business and provide wide ranging legal support and advice to its group of high street brands. The business prides itself on being people focussed, with both customers and its own people and as a result, it is a highly collegiate and positive environment. The role is being offered full-time with 3 days in the South London office or on a 4 day a week basis with 2 days in the office. About the Opportunity As the lawyer for these areas, you will take the lead on data privacy matters, liaising with the European data privacy team and ensuring best practice across the brands globally. There will also be the opportunity to take on more in the AI and cybersecurity space as this continues to gain prominence. You will also have the opportunity to work on related regulatory and compliance matters, developing strong relationships with the business, supporting a culture of integrity and partnering with the business, ensuring it has the right legal support to meet its vision and the expectations it has of itself. About You This is a position requiring a data privacy lawyer with a difference – the role will best suit a data privacy lawyer who is looking to do more, especially in the AI and cybersecurity space as well as in the compliance and regulatory space. Experience working with retail and consumer brands would be welcome or even healthcare or manufacturing. A degree of in-house experience is likely to be key as the role requires experience implementing data privacy policies and training the business as well as processes and procedures. The ability to navigate a complex international business with customers at the centre is also key whilst also being collaborative and collegiate. This is a unique and opportunity for a data privacy lawyer to join a consumer focussed business in a highly varied role which will continue to evolve.
