The Opportunity:
As Director of Solutions Engineering for the EMEA region, you will build and lead a high-performing Solutions Engineering team. You will own regional GTM initiatives with sales leadership, collaborate with Customer Experience to ensure post-sale success, and work with Marketing to drive adoption programs for OSS and commercial/cloud Grafana products. You will partner with Product Management and Engineering to influence roadmaps based on customer and team feedback and your experience in the Monitoring and Observability space. You will be responsible for hitting and exceeding regional financial targets and driving global impact through effective leadership.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Attract, recruit, ramp, and mentor a diverse team of Presales SEs.
- Lead with a servant-based, player/coach approach, balancing field responsibilities with team development and career growth.
- Direct day-to-day activities based on guidance from leadership, owning regional planning, actions, and outcomes.
- Partner with EMEA sales leadership on customer programs, marketing initiatives, and community/events to drive adoption and expansion.
- Provide executive sponsorship of key accounts in the region and act as a thought leader for customers and Grafana within EMEA.
- Understand key customers’ adoption strategies and develop programs and collateral to enable success.
- Ensure customer requirements are met by collaborating with Product Management and Engineering, prioritising time using data-driven insights.
- Own and report on quarterly cadence of the team while assisting prospects with demonstrations, deep dives, trials, and proofs of value.
- Identify and drive enablement and sell with/through channel partners at local, regional, and global levels with RSI and GSI partners.
What Make You a Great Fit:
- 5–10 years of leadership experience in a high-tech environment in roles such as Developer, Architect, Sales Engineer/Architect, or Manager.
- Proven success in a fast-paced, remote-first, high-growth setting.
- Track record of mentoring and developing people and managing performance over time.
- Open Source selling or Cloud-first/Product-led GTM experience is a plus.
- Experience with formal sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC) and value-based selling.
- Direct experience selling monitoring/data/visualisation products.
- Ability to own a book of business and drive over-quartier targets for self and team.
Bonus Point For:
- Strong understanding of observability solutions; Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki familiarity is a plus.
Compensation & Rewards:
In the UK, the OTE range for this role is £166,500 – £200,100. Compensation varies by level, experience, and skillset. Roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) to align incentives with Grafana Labs’ growth. RSUs reflect shared outcomes as the company scales globally. Compensation ranges are country-specific. If you are applying from a location different from the listed country, your recruiter will discuss the market’s pay range and benefits at the start of the process.
