Due to our ongoing success, we now have a vacancy for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to shape and deliver our national strategy within the Builder Merchant sector, driving sales, distribution and market share for two established premium brands.

The role: You’ll drive growth across the UK by developing and delivering a national business development strategy focused on Builder Merchants and buying groups. You’ll be responsible for identifying, targeting and securing new merchant partnerships and sales channels while building and maintaining senior relationships with key merchant groups, buying organisations and other key decision-makers. A key part of the role will involve leading negotiations for national supply agreements, product listings and promotional activity, ensuring our products achieve maximum visibility, availability and pull-through demand across merchant networks. Working closely with Regional Sales, Specification and Marketing teams, you’ll align commercial activity to maximise opportunities and deliver sustainable business growth. You will take ownership of CRM management, pipeline development, forecasting and reporting and be accountable for delivering sales, margin and growth targets in line with the company's objectives.

About you – what you’ll bring:

  • Proven success in Business Development, National Accounts or Key Account Management within the construction products, building materials, flooring or interiors sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK Builder Merchant market, including major groups and independents.
  • Demonstrable experience developing strategic, long term customer partnerships.
  • Highly commercial with excellent influencing, negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Established network of contacts across the UK Builder Merchant sector.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
