You’ll work closely with experienced researchers, clients and suppliers, helping to deliver high-quality insights at pace, while building the foundations of a long-term career in market research.
The role involves all stages of the research process, giving you broad exposure and the chance to develop genuine expertise quickly. You’ll work on projects across a wide range of sectors, including utilities (gas, electricity and water), retail, food & drink, construction, local government and SaaS. Our work spans key business challenges such as pricing, customer experience, innovation and sustainability. Sustainability is a core part of who we are. You’ll play an active role in our bi-annual syndicated trackers:
- Sustainability Tracker (running for 6 years)
- Low Carbon Technologies (LCT) Tracker (running for 4 years)
We believe great research comes from strong relationships and sharp thinking, and you’ll be encouraged to get out there, build connections and take ownership early on.
What will you be doing day-to-day?
Working closely with a Project Manager and the wider team, you will:
- Support projects from commission through to delivery
- Help design questionnaires, discussion guides and fieldwork materials
- Manage fieldwork and liaise with suppliers
- Check, analyse and interpret data
- Contribute to clear, compelling insight and presentation slides linked to real business action
- Communicate with clients and help keep projects moving
Alongside project work, you’ll also get involved in internal initiatives such as supplier relationships, sustainability, quality & service assurance and social activities, helping to shape the business as it grows. Learning, coaching and development
You’ll receive structured training and on-the-job coaching across:
- Questionnaire and screener design
- Topic guide creation and moderation techniques
- Quantitative and qualitative analysis (using a range of tools and software)
- Client communication and presentation skills
We also fully fund and support the MRS Advanced Certificate, helping you build recognised professional expertise early in your career.
Skills & experience required
We’re looking for someone who is curious, resilient and keen to get involved.
Essential:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
- Strong analytical skills and confidence interpreting numerical data
- Clear, concise written communication
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong verbal communication and the confidence to build rapport
- A natural curiosity and desire to ask questions and explore
- Proactive, enthusiastic and keen to develop
- Enjoys working as part of a team and contributing to a positive team culture
- Comfortable building relationships with colleagues, clients, suppliers and respondents
Desirable:
- Some exposure to qualitative or quantitative research (academic or agency-based)
- Beginner SPSS or Q skills
- Confident user of MS Excel
