The Role
As an Audit and Financial Reporting Trainee, you will play a key role in supporting the audit and accounts teams in delivering high-quality services to clients across various sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate to gain professional qualifications and develop a strong foundation in both audit and financial reporting. You will study towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA), with full study support provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, execution and completion of audit assignments for a range of clients
- Prepare statutory financial statements
- Support the preparation of management accounts and year-end reports
- Perform analytical reviews and assist in identifying audit risks
- Work closely with senior team members and managers to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met
- Liaise with clients to obtain information and resolve queries in a professional manner
- Keep up to date with developments in accounting standards and audit regulations
- Contribute to internal process improvements and firm-wide initiatives
About You
Essential:
- A 2:1 (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics, or related would be a bonus, however those with any degree background with a strong interest in audit will be considered
- An inquisitive, analytical, and problem-solving nature
- Full driving license (some travel to client sites will be required)
- Keen to complete either the ACA or ACCA qualification
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Eager to learn and build a long-term career in audit and financial reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
Desirable:
- Some prior experience (e.g. internship, placement year, or part-time work) in accounting or professional services would be a bonus but is not a necessity
