What type of things will I be working on?
This 2 year rotational graduate programme, starting September 2026, consists of four 6-month rotations where placements, projects, and activities are aligned to your development ambitions - always involving work on real value-adding activities and projects delivering tangible business benefits.
The Manufacturing Software scheme will involve diverse placements in software development and functional areas including mechanical production engineering, electronics, and operations. You'll have the opportunity to work on:
- Programming primarily inLabVIEW, along with C#, SQL, and PLC, adapting to various solutions and platforms
- Exposure to diverse software development methodologies and core skills as you rotate through different functional areas
- Develop a deep understanding of the full process development function, covering software, electronics, mechanical, and integration disciplines.
You will directly contribute to key process development and automation projects and subsequently receive excellent job satisfaction through the completion of both short and longer-term activities.
What career opportunities are available?
The scheme will prepare you for a meaningful role within our manufacturing organisation upon completion, by which time you will be possess both strong technical and core enabling skills. You will have the opportunity to progress within the Manufacturing Services Division, dependent on specific performance areas, personal preferences, and business requirements.

Where will I be working?
This role is based out of one of our main sites near Miskin in South Wales. Since our Renishaw sites are located in semi-rural areas, applicants should ensure they have reliable means of transport to reach the site, as public transportation options may be limited. Alternatively, applicants should be willing to relocate to the local area.
You may have the opportunity to complete a short term rotations across the Gloucestershire sites, dependent on business need and preference.
What do I need?
We’re looking for passionate engineers expecting a 2:1 or above (or equivalent) in a relevant Engineering or STEM discipline, such as Computer Science, Software, Maths, Physics or Engineering.
Training and development is excellent so candidates with no experience but a keen interest in engineering will be strongly considered. If you are excited about the role but feel as though you don’t meet all the requirements, we would encourage you still to apply.
