The Company

A pioneering force in the grocery retail space and a household name. What truly sets the company apart is its obsession with data. Insight sits at the heart of every decision. From the products customers see to the timing of seasonal promotions, stock forecasting, loyalty campaigns, and new commercial strategies. Analysts are not just number crunchers here, they’re embedded in the business, influencing high-level decision-making and shaping the future of retail.

You’ll be part of a data and insight team known for its high impact, collaborative culture, and commitment to up-skilling. With access to rich datasets, modern tools like SQL and Tableau, and hands-on exposure to commercial challenges, this is an environment where analysts grow fast, and make a measurable difference, every day.

The Role

As an Insight Analyst you’ll sit at the intersection of data, trading, and customer behaviour, driving insights that shape seasonal performance and promotional effectiveness. Working closely with the trade operations team, you’ll use SQL and data visualisation tools to analyse everything from meal deal success to Christmas stock levels. You’ll manage both fast-turnaround requests and long-term strategic projects, translating complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders across the business.

This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and wants to apply analytical thinking to real commercial problems, especially those shaped by seasonality, consumer trends, and retail timing.

Essential

  • Experience with SQL or strong willingness to learn it quickly (training provided)
  • Strong numeracy, evidenced by at least one of the following:
    • High grade in Maths A‑Level
    • STEM degree
    • Substantial experience in data and analytics

Proven experience providing commercial insights using data

  • Ability to help frame business questions and deliver actionable, data‑backed answers
  • Experience with a data visualisation tool (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker or similar)

Desirable

  • Experience in retail, FMCG, or e-commerce, particularly involving seasonality and events
