The Company
An innovative niche consultancy specialising in providing market intelligence, pricing and forecasting to most of the top 50 global pharmaceuticals firms, including all of the top 10. All of their staff start at graduate level which means that growth is organic and the managers have been through the same path.
Role - International Business Development Consultant
An excellent opportunity for someone with a life sciences background, who would enjoy the challenge of consultative sales. Conducting business on a global basis, your role will be varied and no week will be the same.
Responsibilities Include
- Researching potential prospects.
- Seeking out major decision makers within pricing, forecasting and insight in major pharmaceutical companies.
- Finding ways of connecting with prospects, typically over the phone, e-mail, LinkedIn Navigator, etc.
- Introducing consulting services around market access, pricing and forecasting.
- Qualifying interest and suitability to book an appointment with the prospect.
- Selling to the global top 50 pharmaceutical companies, including personal responsibility within the top 10 pharmaceutical companies.
- Pre-appointment research and preparation.
- Attending business meetings, learning how to conduct sales meetings from them and taking more responsibility each time to eventually make the transition to running meetings.
- Managing the sales and negotiation process.
- Dealing with requests for proposals.
- Training new clients on how to use the software.
In Return You Will Get:
- A competitive salary of £28K which rises to £31K at 6 month probation.
- Car allowance of £4500 pa.
- Annual performance-based bonus - eligible after probation.
- Additional November bonus worth £2500 (pro-rata).
- 27 days holiday + bank holidays, rising to 30 on progression to senior BDC.

Profile
- Graduate in life sciences – 2:1 or 1st (or equivalent).
- Driving license.
- Grade A in A-level Maths, Chemistry, Physics or Economics.
- Strong mathematical background and competent in Excel.
- Clear and fluent in English.
- Engaging and pleasant.
- A proactive self-starter.
- Any form of target-based experience is particularly welcome.
- Have to be happy with international travel.
