The Electronic Test Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and verifying the performance of electronic components, assemblies, and systems. This role ensures that all products meet technical specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements through precise measurement, inspection, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and functional tests on circuit boards, sub-assemblies, and finished products using oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Diagnose and repair faulty components, wiring, or solder joints to component level where applicable.
  • Interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Record, analyze, and report test data accurately using computer-based systems.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to resolve issues and improve product reliability.
  • Calibrate and maintain test equipment in accordance with company standards.
  • Follow ESD, safety, and quality control procedures during all testing activities.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of test procedures and documentation.
  • Support prototype builds, product validation, and environmental stress testing (as required).

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics principles.
  • Proficiency with test instruments (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, power supply, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with automated test systems or test software (LabVIEW, TestStand, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • Good computer literacy (MS Office, data logging software, ERP systems).
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
