Operations Manager at Graduate Career Solutions
Location: London
Our client is a privately owned RICS-regulated construction consultancy with offices across London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Milton Keynes and Sheffield. They’re currently looking for an Assistant Building Surveyor to provide reliable assessments and evaluations of buildings to ensure they meet legal and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- To carry out building surveys and reports to a consistently high standard across numerous work streams.
- Advise clients on a range of building/property issues including technical, financial, legal, environmental/sustainability, regulatory, and restoration matters.
- Prepare technical information in relation to commissions.
- Advise on environmental and health and safety issues of buildings.
- Provide timely advice in relation to legal and planning issues.
- Manage planning and building regulations applications.
- Offer advice on property alterations, improvements and extensions.
- Use computer-assisted design (CAD) packages and other specialist software to capture and analyse information.
- Assess the condition of existing buildings, identifying any defects.
- Monitor the deterioration or defects of a property and offer advice on repair work to clients.
- Assess the impact of unexpected damage on insurance, for example after a fire or flood.
About you
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent level of knowledge gained by practical work experience.
- Experience of working in a client facing role.
- Experience of working in the construction and property industry.
- Full UK driving license.
- Clear pathway to become a Chartered Building Surveyor.
