Graduate Hotels is seeking an experienced Leisure Club Manager to joinGraduate by Hilton Cambridge and its brilliant team of hospitality enthusiasts!

The 148-bedroom Graduate Cambridge hotel is part of the Graduate Hotels collection inspired by the prestigious University of Cambridge and its surrounding town. Set right on the River Cam, in the heart of Cambridge's historic centre. The hotel feels like an extension of the university, with nods to college architecture.

THE ROLE

As a Leisure Club Manager , you will be motivated and passionate about fitness, sales, and leading a small team. With guest satisfaction at the forefront of what we do, you will ensure our guests & members receive a warm welcome and the highest level of customer service as soon as they step foot through the leisure club doors. You will ensure your team is trained to the highest standard and are there to assist our guests & members with any needs they may have.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will develop, maintain, and administer a business plan for the leisure club, including budgets and marketing, and identify opportunities to maximise the use of the leisure facilities in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Recruiting, managing, developing, and motivating a small leisure team – where you will create a culture of continuous professional development, empowering them to deliver and be the best.
  • Hold the 2,6, and 11-week probation review meetings for all new starters.
  • Conduct annual and mid-year Appraisals with Team Members.
  • Taking ownership of guest/member complaints – you will be fully empowered to make decisions whilst dealing with guests/members and are expected to take full ownership of the feedback to ensure every guest/member leaves the hotel happy.
  • Regularly walking the gym floor, engaging with our guests.
  • Effectively investigate, report and follows-up on guest incidents.
  • Ensures corrective measures are implemented to prevent a reoccurrence of any accidents.
  • Ensure stock levels are appropriate to business demands.
  • Take responsibility for health and safety, cleaning, and maintenance for the club to ensure the highest standards are always maintained.
  • Manage the fitness product offering, including swimming and personal training.
  • Promoting, managing, and selling new memberships.
  • Implement and monitor up-selling strategies to maximise leisure club operational revenue.
  • Ensure all complaints are dealt with promptly.
  • Implement ongoing skills training and attend any department training sessions.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the head of departments, senior management, and the wider business.
  • Planning work schedules for your team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU

  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing and leading a small team within a Leisure Club.
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about the fitness industry.
  • A great communicator, able to connect with all the other HOD's and team members.
  • Able to effectively manage all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • It is essential that you hold a recognised Pool Plant Operators qualification.
  • If you have a Health & Fitness qualification, Pool Lifeguard and First Aid at Work certificate this would place you at an advantage.
  • Demonstrational experience in achieving sale targets for memberships.
  • Flexible with shift patterns, including weekend work and Bank holidays when required.
