About this role
As the Business Development Manager at Gradient, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s strategic growth and sales initiatives within the football industry. Reporting directly to the EVP, Club and Partner Solutions, you will be responsible for developing and managing key relationships with football clubs, leagues, and organisations globally to drive sales. In addition, you will liaise with other key members of the leadership team to provide insight on strategy, education and brand growth of Gradient. This is a full-time and remote position and the candidate must be based in the United Kingdom or Europe.
Essential Duties & Functions
- Identify, negotiate, and establish revenue-generating relationships with football clubs, leagues, and related organisations to drive growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the football industry.
- Collaborate with the Head of Customer Success to ensure that prospects and partners receive exceptional service and support, addressing their needs and feedback promptly.
- Collaborate with the EVP Club and Partner Solutions, EVP Product and Experience to integrate customer feedback into the product development process.
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to refine language and messaging to educate our audience on why we are different.
- Develop and implement processes and best practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness in managing partnerships.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a senior sales or partnership role within the sports industry, preferably within the football (Soccer) industry.
- Proven track record of establishing and managing high-value partnerships and achieving revenue targets.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience working in high performance teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Passion for sports, particularly football and familiarity with the global football market.
- 360° business acumen in marketing, sales, and finance.
- Cost-efficient mindset.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively manage day-to-day interactions and relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders across multiple timezones.
