We are seeking a Design Technology and Art Technician to join a fantastic small high school in Suffolk. As a valued member of the faculty, you’ll play a key role in supporting our vibrant Design Technology and Art departments, ensuring smooth operation and providing essential assistance to teachers and students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the Design Technology, Art, and associated subject areas.
  • Assist teachers during practical lessons by supporting students with a range of needs.
  • Maintain and prepare resources, tools, and materials for lessons and projects.
  • Ensure classrooms and workshops are safe, organised, and compliant with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Repair and maintain equipment and tools as needed.
  • Act on your own initiative to meet tight deadlines and provide proactive support to teaching staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers to contribute to the delivery of engaging and creative lessons.
  • Assist with displays and exhibitions of student work.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Design Technology and Art tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety regulations and their application in a classroom/workshop setting.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
