SEMH Secondary Teaching Assistant – North Norfolk

Location: North Norfolk Role: Secondary Teaching Assistant – SEMH Type: Full-time / Long-term Start: ASAP Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Grade A Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive SEMH setting in North Norfolk.

The school is a small, welcoming specialist setting based in a characterful Victorian building, providing a calm and supportive environment for students who may require additional support with their social, emotional and mental health needs.

The Role

  • Supporting secondary-aged students with SEMH needs.
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Helping students engage positively with learning.
  • Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with students.
  • Working closely with teachers and the wider support team.
  • Encouraging students to develop confidence, independence and resilience.
  • The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is

  • Experienced working with SEMH, challenging behaviour or additional needs.
  • Confident supporting secondary-aged students.
  • Calm, patient and resilient.
  • Able to build strong relationships with young people.
  • Consistent and positive in their approach.
  • Passionate about helping students achieve their potential.

Previous experience within an SEN, SEMH, PRU, alternative provision, youth work or pastoral setting would be highly desirable.
