Grade A Recruitment are working with a prestigious school trust in Norwich who are looking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and hardworking Caretaker to work across two infant schools in the Drayton area from September 2026. This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 hours per week on a split shift basis, Monday to Friday. The working day will begin at 7:00am, with flexibility around hours to be agreed in partnership with the schools. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and reliable individual to join a supportive school community and play a key role in maintaining safe, secure and welcoming learning environments.
Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for the overall security of both school premises
- Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs
- Ensure the school sites are clean, safe and well presented
- Support the management and supervision of cleaning staff
- Maintain high standards of health and safety across both sites
- Work collaboratively with school staff and the wider trust team
Requirements:
- Previous caretaking, site management or maintenance experience
- Experience managing cleaning staff, or a willingness to learn
- Ability to carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs
- Understanding of GDPR, safeguarding and confidentiality
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
