Grade A Recruitment are working with a specialist SEN school in King's Lynn who are looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a long-term supply basis. This full-time role is available for an immediate start until Christmas 2026, although part-time applications of 3 or more days per week will also be considered. There is also the opportunity for the position to become permanent for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs both in and out of the classroom
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities
  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Support the implementation of individual learning and behaviour plans
  • Help create a safe, positive and supportive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and wider support teams

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN, SEMH or support-based setting
  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
  • A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
