We are seeking a committed and compassionate KS1/KS2 Teacher to join a welcoming school in Ipswich from January. This is a full-time role, initially for one term, with the potential to continue for longer depending on school needs and performance.
The school supports a mixed academic cohort, including pupils working below age-related expectations. Many children benefit from consistent routines, clear boundaries, and nurturing relationships, making this an ideal role for a teacher who values structure, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons across KS1 and KS2
- Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities
- Create and maintain a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support both learning and wellbeing
- Use effective behaviour management strategies rooted in consistency and clarity
- Work collaboratively with SEN staff, support staff, and external professionals
- Monitor progress and adapt teaching to support pupils working below age-related expectations
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching in KS1 and/or KS2
- Strong understanding of inclusive practice and differentiation
- Ability to quickly build rapport with pupils and establish routines
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach to classroom management
- Experience working with pupils with SEN, ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or EAL
