We are currently seeking dedicated Primary Teachers to join a specialist SEND school based in the Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds area. This is a long‑term role starting ASAP, running until Easter half term 2026, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs and offers a structured, nurturing environment with a strong focus on inclusion, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for every child.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the primary age range
- Support pupils with a range of SEND needs, adapting teaching approaches accordingly
- Create a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Manage behaviour positively, in line with school policies and individual support plans
- Work closely with teaching assistants, SEND staff, and pastoral teams
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reviews, targets, and EHCP outcomes
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant UK teaching experience
- Experience working in SEND settings or with pupils with additional needs
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Patient, adaptable, and resilient approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
