Grade A Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Inclusion / Behaviour Support Officer to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong behaviour management experience to make a real impact on the lives of young people who require additional support to reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in managing their behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders to implement effective behaviour strategies and interventions.
  • Supervise students working in the inclusion or reflection room, ensuring a calm, structured, and supportive environment.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote personal development and resilience.
  • Keep accurate records of incidents, progress, and interventions, providing feedback to staff and parents when required.
  • Contribute to a whole-school approach to behaviour, inclusion, and wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in behaviour support, pastoral care, or inclusion (ideally within a secondary or SEND school).
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and supporting young people to achieve their best.
