We are currently seeking a caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Fakenham. This role is available with an immediate start, initially until the Easter half term, with the potential to extend through to July 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with learning disabilities, within a supportive and structured school environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Support pupils with a range of learning disabilities and additional needs
  • Assist teachers with delivering adapted and differentiated learning activities
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement
  • Support pupils with routines, transitions, and daily classroom activities
  • Work closely with teachers, SEND teams, and pastoral staff
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and personal development in pupils
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a UK school within the last 3 years
  • Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities or SEND
  • Patient, calm, and consistent approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, flexible, and committed attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
