We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND HLTA to join a specialist school in Fakenham. This role is available with an immediate start, initially until the Easter half term, with the potential to extend through to July 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with learning disabilities, within a supportive and structured school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted learning support to individuals and small groups under the guidance of teaching staff
- Support pupils with a range of learning disabilities and additional needs
- Assist with planning and delivering adapted learning activities
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement
- Support classroom management and day-to-day running of lessons
- Work closely with teachers, SEND teams, and pastoral staff
- Encourage independence, confidence, and personal development in pupils
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
Requirements:
- Experience working in a UK school within the last 3 years
- Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities or SEND
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (desirable)
- Patient, calm, and consistent approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
