We are seeking a passionate and experienced English Teacher to join a supportive SEND school in King s Lynn. This role is full-time, covering until EOAY, and focuses on teaching pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. Candidates must either hold QTS or have significant, relevant teaching experience in SEND settings. The school is committed to inclusion, high expectations, and supporting pupils to achieve both academically and socially in a structured and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a safe and structured learning environment
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs, including differentiated work and 1:1 support where required
  • Collaborate with SEND staff, teaching assistants, and pastoral teams to implement strategies and meet targets
  • Assess pupil progress, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or substantial experience teaching English in SEND/SEMH settings
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEMH needs is essential
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet individual pupil needs
  • Collaborative, patient, and flexible approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
