This is a graduate opportunity for engineers who want to design infrastructure that actually works for people, communities, and the planet. You'll join a global, design-led engineering consultancy working at the cutting edge of transport, water, energy and climate-resilient infrastructure.
Each year, hundreds of graduates join the business to help tackle some of the most complex challenges facing the built environment β from flood resilience and low-carbon energy to sustainable cities and nature-positive design.
The Role
As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you'll work across diverse, real-world projects from day one β collaborating with engineers, planners, environmental specialists and digital experts. Projects span:
- Transport infrastructure and public realm
- Flood risk management and coastal engineering
- Sustainable urban drainage and green infrastructure
- Water and wastewater infrastructure
- Renewable energy projects (offshore wind, tidal, hydrogen, solar)
- Regeneration and masterplanning
You'll be involved from early concept through to detailed design and construction, working with both public and private sector clients.
What you'll be doing
No two days are the same, but you can expect to:
- Carry out engineering analysis, assessment and design
- Prepare drawings, calculations, reports and specifications
- Support feasibility studies and option appraisals
- Work with landscape architects, planners and environmental teams
- Attend site visits, surveys and client meetings
- Develop low-carbon and sustainability strategies
- Contribute to flood modelling, drainage design and infrastructure planning
- Use industry-leading software and digital tools
- Explore automation, data and digital engineering methods
You'll also be supported towards professional accreditation with structured training, mentoring and real project responsibility.
Tools & tech exposure
Depending on your projects, you may work with: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS, InfoDrainage, Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, InfoWorks, Navisworks, Python and other specialist engineering software. (You don't need experience in everything β curiosity and willingness to learn matter more.)
