Learning & Development Manager This company is looking for a curious, people-focused Learning & Development professional to help shape how their teams learn, grow and build the capabilities they need for the future. You’ll work closely with managers and colleagues across the business to understand development priorities, design engaging learning experiences and help people take ownership of their professional growth. You’ll have a particular interest in the human side of performance — including adaptability, resilience, self-awareness and curiosity — alongside an awareness of how technology and new ways of working are changing the skills organisations need. Building skills and career development Develop resources that help teams identify colleagues with particular expertise and facilitate knowledge sharing. Introduce effective ways of assessing capability, combining self-assessment, manager and peer input, and digital assessment tools. Embed development conversations and evidence of learning into performance, objective-setting and review processes. Coaching and mentoring Stretch assignments and project opportunities Secondments and temporary role changes Digital learning and e-learning Short videos, podcasts and other bite-sized content You’ll also keep up to date with emerging learning practices, platforms and technologies — including developments in AI and digital productivity — and identify opportunities to bring useful new approaches into the organisation. Communicating learning opportunities and encouraging participation across the organisation. Increased participation and engagement in development opportunities. High-quality learner feedback and satisfaction. Stronger employee survey results around learning, development and career progression. Learning activity that demonstrably contributes to individual and business performance. You don’t necessarily need to have followed a traditional L&D career path. We’re interested in people who have experience developing others and creating effective ways for people to learn, whether that has come through learning and development, management, education, operations, project coordination or another people-focused environment. Enjoys discovering, creating and curating useful learning content. Takes a proactive approach to their own learning and development. Is comfortable using data and feedback to understand whether something is working. Has an interest in emerging technology and has explored practical applications of AI and digital tools. Can manage multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders effectively. Communicates clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing. Is motivated by helping other people build confidence, capability and career opportunities. Permanent position ~22.5–37.5 hours per week — applications are welcome from candidates seeking either part-time or full-time hours.
