A UK economic regulator is hiring high-potential students and recent graduates to join its Major Projects & Market Oversight team, working on the delivery and regulation of some of the largest water infrastructure projects in the country. This is a rare opportunity to sit at the centre of how billion-pound public infrastructure is governed, funded and delivered.

Key Criteria (what we're screening for)

  • On track for or achieved at least a 2:2 degree in:
  • Economics, Business or Project Management
  • Engineering
  • Geography
  • Politics
  • Environmental Studies
  • Or another analytical, numerical or research-based subject
  • Or a Level 3–5 apprenticeship in economics or a related field
  • Must be on a sandwich degree or a recent graduate/apprentice (within 3 years)
  • What this role really is

    You’ll be embedded inside the team that oversees:

    • Water recycling and desalination plants
    • National water transfer networks

    You’ll also work closely with RAPID — the body responsible for progressing major water infrastructure across England and Wales. This is infrastructure, economics and regulation in action, not theory.

    What you’ll be doing

    • You’ll support senior teams who:
    • Monitor and track major infrastructure programmes
    • Review project delivery, risks and milestones
    • Analyse data, documents and delivery plans
    • Support regulatory decisions on national investment
    • Work with water companies, government and investors
  • You’ll help turn complex project information into clear, usable insight that drives real-world decisions.
