Graduate Programme | Software & Technology

  • Location: Ipswich — fully office-based
  • Contract: Permanent, full-time from day one
  • Start dates: Throughout the year

Your degree doesn’t need to be in technology. Your curiosity, willingness to learn and ambition matter.

A privately owned software company is recruiting graduates to help organisations around the world get the most from its service management software.

The business develops, sells, implements and supports its own products in-house. You’ll learn directly from experienced colleagues, work with customers early and build the knowledge to shape your career.

No previous software experience is required.

How your career starts

Your first few weeks will focus on understanding the software, the business and its customers. You’ll join alongside other new starters and learn from colleagues who have followed the same route.

Your first role will be Support Technician, where you’ll:

  • Work directly with customers to understand their questions and challenges.
  • Investigate problems and help customers use the software effectively.
  • Build detailed product knowledge and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Learn how different organisations operate and what they need from their systems.
  • Take on greater responsibility as your knowledge and confidence grow.

From there, opportunities can open up in software consultancy and other areas of the business, depending on your strengths and readiness.

How progression works

The company develops its senior leaders from within, with everyone learning the business from the ground up.

There are no fixed graduate rotations or set progression timetable. You move forward when you have the knowledge and capability to take on more responsibility.

The programme is fully office-based, giving you daily access to colleagues who can answer questions, share experience and help you develop.

Key criteria

  • Degree qualification: Any subject considered; a technology degree is not required.
  • Academic background: A 2:1 degree or above and A-level grades of BBB or higher are preferred. Applications are assessed as a whole, so these are not automatic cut-offs.
  • UK work eligibility: Unrestricted right to work and remain in the UK.
  • Office availability: Able to work full-time from the Ipswich office.
  • Curiosity: Interested in how businesses operate and how technology helps them.
  • Willingness to learn: Able to pick up new information, ask questions and apply what you learn.
  • Communication: Confident speaking with different people and explaining information clearly.
  • Customer focus: Interested in helping customers and investigating practical problems.
  • Ownership: Willing to take responsibility as your knowledge and confidence develop.
  • Long-term motivation: Keen to build a career through practical learning and increasing responsibility, without relying on a fixed rotation programme.

What’s on offer

  • Permanent employment from day one.
  • Training alongside other new joiners.
  • Direct customer experience early in your career.
  • Progression based on your capability and readiness.
  • Opportunities to move into consultancy and other business areas.
  • Start dates throughout the year.
